12.13.12 | Wrote this on another forum:
"Today is the 11th anniversay of Chuck Schuldiner death. Truly an revolutionary, visionary and fantastic musician, Chuck work speaks of not only creating, but of evolving and perfecting on whatever you really love and are really passionate for.
To think that the man responsible for creating and pushing Death Metal to its limits, would be the same one to reinvent it ( inventing tech death with better musicians that the ones he worked with, better lyrics about the society and the psycho of the human mind, better productions on death metal), would be to think of one of the best musical minds of the 90´s.
What a fucking shame, to not be on the legendary status right now, on every metalhead thoughts and music library. A blasphemy, for sure.
R.I.P, Chuck. You are TRULY missed." |

not the pioneer (technically) but he sure is the one who perfected it, chuck himself doesn't take the credit for death metal! |

12.13.12 | Ultimate Riff master! very underrated compared to other dead stars like Dimebag and cliff burton

12.13.12 | "not the pioneer (technically)"
I don't see how he isn't the pioneer. Death was the biggest pioneer of death metal, it's undeniable
"Possessed was different from all the other bands who were coming out at that time. They weren't pure noise, and they attempted to incorporate a lot of different musical ideas into their songwriting, not just rehash the same thing. They were into progressing as a band, which paved the way for other groups to expand their sound and do different things" - Chuck Schuldiner
"When we were in Mantas, (Chuck Schuldiner, Rick Rozz and myself) still had a more Venom/Motörhead sound kinda going on. And then I remember Chuck getting the Possessed demo, and I just remember hearing it and just freaking out like, 'Man, this is the way we gotta be." - Kam Lee
