| 5 Worst Cd Purchases
Ever buy a CD on some odd whim, then immediately regret it after you actually listen to it? Ya. Me too. | | 1 | | Tool 10,000 Days
There's no denying Lateralus kicks ass. Which makes this sort of lazy, uninspired crap hurt that much more. This is still, to date, the only album I have ever thrown out. | | 2 | | The Sound Of Animals Fighting Tiger And The Duke
Noisy, clunky, stale, and irritating. This CD is exactly what I don't look for in modern music. The interludes are pointless, and the real songs are unimpressive. | | 3 | | Nine Inch Nails Year Zero
I'm not a NIN fan. I had heard so much praise for their latest release, however, that I decided to check it out. Whoops. Big mistake. I felt like I should be sleeping through it, but it was so freaking noisy that sleep was an impossibility. | | 4 | | 30 Seconds To Mars A Beautiful Lie
To be fair, this CD has some not-half-bad songs (Attack, From Yesterday) but unfortunately, not only is the album too short, but most of the tracks are ridiculously samey. Boring after the first few listens. | | 5 | | The Mars Volta Amputechture
To be honest, this wasn't a terrible purchase. There's really about 28 minutes of fantastic music in here. Too bad that doesn't even constitute half of the album, and the other half is so god-awful it makes me wonder how anyone could call these guys "saviours of prog". If schizophrenia had a favorite album, this would be it. | |

12.03.07 | Wow, you fail. | Xenocide
12.03.07 | What he said | gasmaskman
12.03.07 | WTF is this a joke? Especially one...throwing it AWAY?! Damn, the case alone was worth buying it. FAIL. | Lunarfall
12.03.07 | +1000000000000 for having #1 on the list. That album, and Tool in general, blow hard. | Yazz_Flute
12.03.07 | Of course 1's not as good as lateralus or aenima, but it's still fantastic.
| McP3000
12.03.07 | Reps for 1-4
major negs for 5. 5 is great | Acre
12.03.07 | No joke. I actually threw it away. I only considered keeping it for the case.
Ya, I kinda figured I'd get slammed pretty hard for this list, but w/e. | SynGates
12.03.07 | good call on 4, I didnt really like 1 all that much after a few listens.
why would you throw an album away though, I would sell it or just keep it in your collection noted as a bad album | cometuesday
12.03.07 | There are far worse albums. Some of which I noticed in your top rated. | botb
12.03.07 | i enjoyed 1, 2, 4, AND 5. So I completely disagree. | xmattxhardcore
12.03.07 | Wow, i've never thrown a cd out. Not even St. Anger and that was dreadful. | JumpTheF**kUp
12.03.07 | Man, I agree with you so much on #1. I used to love Lateralus and bought 10,000 Days the first day it came out and I was so disappointed.
I didn't throw it out though. I liked the stereoscopic lenses :) | rasputin
12.03.07 | I don't like 10,000 days as much as any of Tool's other work, but I'm far too obsessive over my cds to actually throw any of them away. I've even kept Lynryd Skynyrd's Best of I bought 4 years ago on the wild hope that all their songs would sound as awesome as Freebird. Oh how I hate the south. | Chewie
12.16.07 | ok, 1 and 4 sucked hard. 2,3,5 were all great and i loved them. | grebllah
07.24.08 | Totally agree about Amputechture, the album was way longer than it should have been. every song could have been cut down by a lot.
other than that, the only other albums i have here are 1 and 2. I thoroughly enjoyed both, but I do see where you're coming from on them. | fprock
02.16.09 | 1, 3, and 5 own man! Don't call them disappointing! |
