'vektor' Needs More Love On This Site...
Just recently got in Vektor. Probably the best modern thrash band I've
heard. Great stuff, albums blend prog metal with old-school thrash and
deliver songs that sound like they could have been recorded in the late 80s.
Give them a chance people :) "Forests of Legend" rules!! List is good ole'
digs... |
1 | | Vektor Black Future
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl4X-nlZ8OU |
2 | | Vektor Outer Isolation
Black Future is slightly better, but this still rules |
3 | | Paul Gilber Vibrato
Fans of Gilbert and guitar need to check this out. Read my soundoff, it's an
underrated album that goes in a new unexpected direction for Gilbert. |
4 | | Destruction Spiritual Genocide
First Destruction album, enjoyable stuff, if nothing particularly new. Gonna check
out their other album soon |
5 | | Kamelot Silverthorn
Great semi-comeback for Kamelot after the weak Ghost Opera and Poetry. |
6 | | Neurosis Souls at Zero
Found this to be my favourite of theirs actually. Hard band to get into, but quite
rewarding. |
7 | | Godspeed You! Black Emporer Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!
Awesome. A step up from the previous. "Helicopters" is creepy stuff. |
8 | | Threshold March of Progress
Probably the most underrated prog metal band. Great album, arguably their best. |
9 | | Deep Purple Perfect Strangers
Had only heard the classics (In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, Burn), but this was a
great album too. |
10 | | Dio The Last In Line
Almost as good as Holy Diver. Almost. "Egypt" is sweet. |
11 | | Rush Clockwork Angels
Really good album. Not on par with the 70's classics though |
12 | | Machine Head The Blackening
Still slays. One of my favourite metal albums on the 00's |
13 | | Sodom M16
Also still rules. Epic gym album. |
14 | | Marillion Script for a Jester's Tear
Classic. Anyone know how the new album is? Post Fish era has been a bit "meh" for
me. Brave was brilliant, though. |
15 | | Tool Aenima
Needs no explanation. Will will see a new Tool album next year? I hope so 6 years is
long enough... |
