12.08.12 | I find it odd how you like Can, but not this |

12.08.12 | As similar as somethings may be, liking a band will never mean that you'll like another. |
menawati
12.08.12 | the apparent wayward nature of it was calculated, listen to it a number of times it might make more sense |
AStableReference
12.08.12 | It's funny, in a surrealist way. I wouldn't call myself a fan (yet) but I understand why people like it.
Also, I wouldn't really say it's like Can. |
TheCount
12.08.12 | For me, it took listening to Rain Dogs and Swordfishtrombone by Tom Waits and then immediately putting it on. Suddenly it all made sense. But menawati's right about the calculated nature of the album. They rehearsed this stuff like it was classical music before they recorded. |
TheFonz123
12.08.12 | If you listen closely, the songs are actually very well written and have a calculated structure but they just take what they wrote and fuck it up. I personally see it as meant to be the destruction of a pop song. I think that it's about taking pop songs and then destroying them, and the the lyrics are meant to be absurdist versions old cliched ideas. I might not be making any sense but that's what I get out of it. If you ever end up liking it than listening feels good. |
TheFonz123
12.08.12 | There are a number of "emotional" ideas that you could say are attached to the what I think is the concept like misanthropy and this and that but it's an album that probably everyone will react to differently. |

12.08.12 | It isn't like Can AStableReference but it terms of being experimental and innovative they're on the same plane |

MusicIsMyFavorite
12.08.12 | listen to Safe As Milk and The Shape of Jazz To Come (ornette coleman) and you'll bave a much better perspective on why the album is so good. Also some Howlin' Wolf couldn't hurt |
ThroneOfAgony
12.08.12 | I like it, personally. I admit some of the songs are just simply bad, but others are a messy adventure. It's a great album honestly, I like his voice |
Skweetis
12.08.12 | Walker ain't got shit on the Captain. |

12.08.12 | maybe zappa |
sideburndude
12.08.12 | Just listen to it more, you will make more sense of it then it becomes amazing |
AStableReference
12.08.12 | Even with how groundbreaking it is and how it was done, it sounds really silly. You have to like the surreal and goofy, absurd humor of it too. Look at it with humor |

12.08.12 | god i love this album |

AGuyIsWatchingYou
12.09.12 | It's one of the most compositionally and lyrically diverse rock albums of its time (if not all time).
I can't entirely into it myself but it's definitely interesting and by far closest thing to surrealism I've ever heard in music. |
