12.06.12 | Nate Fryman is the Astros second selection. Never heard of him but he's a first baseman from the Padres AAA team. |
bungy
12.06.12 | You are literally the only Sputnik user who would get excited about the rule v draft. Never heard of Nate Fryman but I bet his wife wishes he could play in San Diego instead of Houston and I guess the Astros are relevant to me since they're moving to the AL West which is fine if they continue to finish 40 games out of first |

12.07.12 | first of all, thank you bungy.
second of all nate freiman* is a giant (6'8") jewish slugger who hit .298/.370/.502 with 23 hr and 31 2b last year at AA San Antonio. so the man can fucking rake. Hopefully he'll be able to stick as the Astros power bat off the bench/back up 1b and dh, but i doubt it. the astros suck but even they can't afford the roster spot to hide a first basemen that ain't ready for major league pitching. still he's worth a flyer.
And man just wait till John Singleton, Carlos Correa, and Rio Ruiz form a Voltron like being of baseball destruction and might then you'll rue the day the Astros were forced into the AL West.
until then enjoy the easy wins.
*man i was so hoping his name was actually spelled "fryman". |

12.07.12 | i focus on the major league players, prospects fade away most of the time. Then you get that rare kevin youkilis |

12.07.12 | one of the dodgers' a-ball affiliates (great lakes loons) plays in my hometown (in a fucking spectacular stadium). saw clayton kershaw pitch regularly in their inaugural season/his first as a pro. carlos santana and dee gordon played here, too. |

12.07.12 | that's cool, like i said you catch one guy all the time, my friend was doing an internship in Rochester, NY and he saw bryce harper play |
Satellite
12.07.12 | that's awesome. yeah, kershaw looked mlb-ready even then. i felt sorry for everyone he faced, because they were just over-matched. i guess that's still pretty close to being the case. |

12.07.12 | looked the same way with harper |
BloodandRainbows
12.07.12 | Red Sox can draft whomever they damn well please and they still aren't going to have a starting staff good enough to catch the rest of the division. Oh, and I think somebody meant to offer Victorino $13m over three years, not $13m each year. |

12.07.12 | lol the guy the mets got is named like lobsterstein or something |

12.07.12 | Always had a soft spot for the sox, even the city of Boston, My uncles love them |

12.07.12 | i really hope the tigers trade for justin upton, as some suggest they might. dude's stock is as low as it's going to get and the tigers have no room for their top prospect castellanos with cabrera at third anyway.

12.07.12 | the tigers are one of the main reasons i plan on coming back to michigan next summer |

12.07.12 | lol, I hate the fact they haven't won a championship and their owner mike illitch cares so much about his club it pisses me off, plus im a huge red wings fan and he owns them too |
bungy
12.07.12 | The name lobsterstein being real just changed my life |
americanohno
12.07.12 | I can't wait till Joey Pankake, shortstop for the SC Gamecocks, gets drafted. That's gonna be an all-time great baseball name.
Also the Brewers drafted a guy last year named Damien Magnifico*, which would be a pretty great name for a crafty lefty or a magician.
*seems like they weren't able to sign him so he'll be pitching for OU. |
