bakkermaarten007
12.06.12 | 1) don't quit if you're not utterly disgusted with your own dependency
2) if you can't resist smoking a cigarette while you're quitting and you give in, jusit quit again. Do'nt feel like you've lost and don't start smoking again.
3) drink lots of water
4) practice lots of sports the first half year while you're quitting, the endorphines will act as a substitue for nicotine.
5) go cold turkey
6) inform yourself before quitting, read everything there is to know about it, from scientific points of view to personal experiences from others.
7)Try to not get to drunk while you're in the presence of smokers.
8) while alone at home and you crave a cigarette, have a beer instead. |

12.06.12 | yeah lots of places are starting to not just regulate them but ban them, especially new york and even canada
now i dont know everything about them but i fail to see how a shot of vapor nicotine, unless it was really concentrated, could be more harmful than a cigarette. |

12.06.12 | yeah, the tobacco companies have been spreading rumors and lies about e-cigs. |

12.06.12 | "unless it was really concentrated, could be more harmful than a cigarette."
because all it is is water vapour and nicotine and doesn't include all the other poisons and overall shit that cigs have, as far as I can tell anyways |

12.06.12 | The only problems with the e-cig I'm aware of is the Cheep Chinese knock-off batteries that explode... don't buy those. There was also a question of the e-juice (nic-juice) having other chemicals and being un-regulated but I've had no problems with either of those. |

12.07.12 | pack a day for many years. the math on how much I've spent since I started is absurd. plus, the obvious health reasons and shit. but man, I do enjoy it :/ |
jdennis31
12.07.12 | • 20 minutes - Your blood pressure, pulse rate and the temperature of your hands and feet have returned to normal.
• 8 hours - Remaining nicotine in your bloodstream will have fallen to 6.25% of normal peak daily levels, a 93.25% reduction.
• 12 hours - Your blood oxygen level will have increased to normal and carbon monoxide levels will have dropped to normal.
• 24 hours - Anxieties have peaked in intensity and within two weeks should return to near pre-cessation levels.
• 48 hours - Damaged nerve endings have started to regrow and your sense of smell and taste are beginning to return to normal. Cessation anger and irritability will have peaked.
• 72 hours - Your entire body will test 100% nicotine-free and over 90% of all nicotine metabolites (the chemicals it breaks down into) will now have passed from your body via your urine. Symptoms of chemical withdrawal have peaked in intensity, including restlessness. The number of cue induced crave episodes experienced during any quitting day will peak for the "average" ex-user. Lung bronchial tubes leading to air sacs (alveoli) are beginning to relax in recovering smokers. Breathing is becoming easier and the lung's functional abilities are starting to increase.
• 5 - 8 days - The "average" ex-smoker will encounter an "average" of three cue induced crave episodes per day. Although we may not be "average" and although serious cessation time distortion can make minutes feel like hours, it is unlikely that any single episode will last longer than 3 minutes. Keep a clock handy and time them.
• 10 days - The "average ex-user is down to encountering less than two crave episodes per day, each less than 3 minutes.

12.07.12 | yea i don't know how accurate it is but it got someone i know to quit cold turkey. he just kinda used it as a checklist and said it was fun noticing the benefits |
TomArnoldsArmpit
12.07.12 | right on. I'm using the patch, because I NEED A CRUTCH. quitting cold turkey after 10 years of smoking just seems like like inevitable failure (for me personally). props to whoever can lock that shit down without help. the patch does give me really tripped out, vivid dreams though. I dig it. |
jdennis31
12.07.12 | good luck to you man. whatever helps to get the job done. when i first heard of lucid dreaming i read that some people actually used nico patches to help induce lucid dreams. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
12.07.12 | that seems like a really expensive (read as: stupid) way to lucid dream.
thanks for the encouraging words homie ;) |

12.07.12 | you either quit living
or quit smoking
is the situation that builds up
before that
you have
remind yourself of the time
you didnt smoke
were you kinda happy
were you shit
then besides that
are there family or friends that you have who want you around in the 1st place
you got to be real
smoking is a habbit that
leaves massive scares
after left unknown
'
you just have this external control
lie to others
about leaving and then immediately
residing to a cigarette
is not the answer
at times
a nicotine rush is the only thing a person would crave if something wrong
and things will be always wrong
so think twice and think right you leave
it
or it leaves you

12.07.12 | I quit after I got a cold and didn't smoke for a few days (always hated smoking while I was sick), and it was quite painless. I wasn't the heaviest of smokers, but still, it's easier than you think to just drop it. If you can guilt yourself out of temptation then it is fine. |
menawati
12.07.12 | You cannot remove the chemical addictiveness quickly but you can stomp on the habitual addictiveness. I quit by forcing myself not to have cigs placed at the desk or at any place I usually smoked and also used the opposite hand to normal. I found my intake dropped quite dramatically and within a week I was smoking 4 or 5 a day instead of 12-15. After that it was pretty easy to quit totally. |
