| Death 'n' Roll?
I really like death 'n' roll when it's done right. Unfortunately, not many bands play it and furthermore, it's seldom done right. So, has any of you heard some good death 'n' roll, preferably from 2012? I'll take recs from any year, though, since I could really do with some more quality stuff from the genre. | 1 | | Entombed Wolverine BLues | 2 | | Gorefest Chapter 13 | 3 | | Profane Omen Destroy!
Groove metal with death metal inspired vocals, mostly, but it's real fun and comes close enough | 4 | | Sanctimony Hell In Stereo | 5 | | Goatwhore Carving Out The Eyes of God
Not "real" death 'n' roll, but it's death/black metal with some rock 'n' roll styled riffs, so again, comes close. | 6 | | Blackstar Barbed Wire Soul | |

12.03.12 | Carcass' "Swansong" is often credited for creating the genre and is by far one of my fovorite heavy albums. Ive also hear the genre called rot-n-roll. | Shiduba
12.03.12 | Try Ghoul Patrol, they're awesome. | Shiduba
12.03.12 | And GAF - Cultivate Disdain, it's pretty grindy at times (their first album was goregrind) but it rocks so fucking hard | ffs

Xysma
Gorefest | Wafflez
12.03.12 | Is death n roll an actual thing or just some random name some guy gave to some random kind of death metal?
Swansong is kickass though | Metalstyles
12.03.12 | It's a bit of both to be honest. It's not classified as a "real" sub-genre by most, but on the other hand, by sound, it is a thing. Basically, it is death metal with strong rock 'n' roll influences/leanings, especially in riffing styles and compositions. | Wizard
07.29.13 | Entombed's 'Uprising' is the best of the genre. |
