yeah it's not a prefect system. i mean every genre on this list besides doom and shoegaze could be easily categorized under a larger umbrella quite satisfactorily. electronic genres here need expansion though, it's a shame to see albums get tagged "other." |

even old school hardcore punk bands mostly referred to themselves as simply hardcore. and these days there it would make even less sense.
i might call bands like ceremony/dangers hardcore or hardcore punk but i would never call kerouac a hardcore punk band. hardcore describes all of the above aptly.
it would make more sense to me to add hardcore EDM or something than hadrcore punk, but i advocate neither. |
