JakeStallion 09.13.12	For Opeth, I actually found that Ghost Reveries was easier for me to get into than their other, more acclaimed albums. As for Porcupine Tree, please keep trying. I originally got into Fear of a Blank Planet and In Absentia, and now I'm hooked on them.

engleprunt 09.13.12	Took me about a year to get into Opeth. Kept hearing things I liked but it takes time for a whole album (or song for that matter) to sink in fully. Keep trying. You'll get there. Ptree was much easier.

drewcordova 09.13.12	Start with MAYH. They try to keep it simpler on that album than the rest. If you can "get" that album, the rest of them make sense. Although, Dead End Kings is a long way off of anything that Opeth has done.

Azazzel 09.14.12	If you go down to the woods and come across an Opeth, the best thing to do is to scare it off by being as loud and aggressive as possible. You might think you should be soft and discreet, but the Opeth will only think of you more as a docile victim who’ll go quietly when it shovels you down its throat. If you’re making a scene, the Opeth will be unsure of you and might not want to risk attacking you if it doesn’t know what it’s up against. When it comes time to fight an Opeth, raise your hands in the air like you just don’t care to look bigger in physical size than you actually are. While the Opeth is a scary creature, it’s not particularly intelligent and probably won’t figure out that you’re actually only 5’8” with your arms lowered. If you’re unfortunate enough to have particularly short arms, wave an object around instead; take of your jacket, if you have one, and spin it around in the air to scare the Opeth away. If you can’t find an incline to scale, you should at least try to avoid certain death by not behaving like a hysterical screaming woman. Avoid eye contact, move away slowly facing it, lie down and play dead. Never, ever turn your back on the Opeth as this will encourage it to strike. Be sure to lie on your front and, if you have a backpack, use it as protection. Don’t try to resist if the Opeth flips you over; the more convincing you are at playing dead, the more likely it is that it’ll get bored and move on. If the Opeth is very hungry it’ll probably eat you whole anyway, but at least you tried.
