Saw Deftones W System Of A Down

So yesterday one of my non christian buddies said he had an extra ticket to go see System of a Down and Deftones. I'd heard of System, and I was familiar with the song Chop Suey but I knew next to nothing about them or Deftones. It was also both my first nonchristian show and my first metal show ever. I've seen Skillet and POD and I've been to a few local concerts, all christian bands, mostly punk and alternative rock so I figured I'd want to have this experience.
1Deftones
Diamond Eyes

We arrived at the stadium about 20 minutes after Deftones started playing
because of traffic. The first thing I noticed when we got to our seats was the smell
of weed, which I didn't recognize until my friend told me what it was. I thought
about leaving immediately but my friend had paid good money and I didn't want to
ruin this concert for him. So we made our way to our seats.

Deftones

Anyway, Deftones was the greatest musical experience of my life, bar none. I had
no idea that music could be so ethereal and sensuous, but at the same time so
menacing. The band all looked like average guys, but the music coming from
the stage, the twisted guitar lines, the creepily crooned vocals interspersed with
some of the most violent screams I've ever heard and the texture and atmosphere
coming from the band made for a phenomenal experience.
When we got home the first thing I did was buy the two above albums. 1 especially
was among the greatest albums I've ever heard, although 2 had some great
moments. Looking over the lyrics I can see that they are very dark and twisted,
which kind of makes me concerned about listening to them, but I think this is one
band where my appreciation for music has to override my moral concerns.
3System of a Down
Hypnotize

This band almost ruined the whole concert for me. They were all very talented,
especially the drummer but the singer and the lyrics were so irritatingly crass,
vulgar, socialistic and just bad that I couldn't bring myself to appreciate the rest of
the band. I mean "Pull the tapeworm out of your ***". Really? That's the best you
could come up with. Also there encore song had some seriously sacreligious lyrics.
And at this point the stadium was pretty much murky with weed smoke at this
point. My friend was enjoying himself though, so I tried to make the best of it.
4System of a Down
Toxicity

There were some great songs in this set, such as Chop Suey and others. I'm not
sure of some of the titles but I think a couple of them were Aerials, Hypnotize,
Bounce, & question
