When it comes to washing your real hair wig, you'll want to wash it less frequently than you'd think. The natural oils of the hair are actually going to protect the hair from getting damaged and make it look shiny and beautiful. If you wash it too much they might get dry and brittle. You can wear the wig about six times before each washing, unless you find it's getting overly greasy. Then feel free to wash it a little sooner.

Before you wash it, you'll want to remove all tangles. Use a wig brush for a straight wig and a wig pick for curly wigs. Take your time; you don't want to do any damage when brushing knots out.
You can then place the wig on a Styrofoam wig stand and put a small amount of shampoo in your hands. Massage the real hair wig softly, but don't overdo it. You can rinse it again with lukewarm water. Place the wig in a towel and gently pat it dry to get excess water out. Let the rest of it air dry on the stand. If you need to wear it fairly soon you can blow dry it, but with the dryer set on low. Use curlers or rollers to give it some bounce and a bit of hair spray is just fine to use as well to set the style.
