We're halfway through 2012, and there's still a plethora of promising
albums to be released in the second half, but these are my current

I preferred From Mars To Sirius, but L'Enfant Sauvage was a great addition to

Oceania
The newest album from my all-time favorite band. I had been anticipating this
more than anything. It wasn't as perfect as I had expected (I thought it could be
better than Mellon Collie), but it has some very solid tracks that stood true to my
expectations. This album is probably better than I give it credit for, but I was

Storm Corrosion
This album completely took me by surprise. I hadn't even heard about it until a
couple months after its release, and my friend had told me that Steven Wilson and
Mikael Åkerfeldt did a project together. I'll never forget my first lesson, as it was
the most unique listening experience I've ever had. It was like a horror movie
soundtrack. I was in my friend's dark basement and we were actually terrified by
its horrific atmosphere. I definite 5/5 for me. | |
