06.29.12 | Calc: i thought the story for modern warfare was really by-the-numbers, and it was really flashy. i liked the older call of duty's because they captured the essence of war somewhat nicely. world at war was supposed to be a cool retread of those ideas, but it ended up being one of the worst due to historical inaccuracies. also, i never said i didn't like fps (although it's probably one of my least favourite genres).
washboard: re: zero, really? i thought the antagonist kind of sucked, and re: remake is the far superior game imo. other than that i think that's a really strong list. metroid prime 1 and 2 are equally enjoyable, and two of the best games ever made, wind waker is beautiful and a lot of fun (i just hate the fetch-quests), fire emblem is loads of fun, and melee (although brawl is just as good imo) has provided countless hours of amusement for me. wario ware is easily one of the best party games.

3: ME1. That's probably just about my favourite of the series even though it's the least acclaimed. The action is a bit clunky and they massively improved it with ME2 and ME3, but the story is the most absorbing of the lot.
Found RDR seriously underwhelming. Still playing Dead Space 1. Haven't played enough in the other genres to make a judgement. |

also melee is the best ssb game IMO. pikmin 2 needs more love, its horribly addictive.
the wario ware for wii is probably better in some ways though. both are killer. |
