For me personally, I can listen to music with lyrics if the songs are ones that I've heard many, many times over, or if it's a band I like for the overall sound instead of their profound lyrics. I can't, however, listen to rap. I think I'd find mewithoutYou's earlier stuff hard, as well (though 'It's All Crazy...' is great). |

If you believe that expecting people to read, even just a 1,000 word article on something that they are interested in, once in a while is of high standards then you are likely to be at least mildly retarded. |
Trebor.
06.26.12 | I read about movies and shit like everyday

06.26.12 | The only recs that would be reasonable would be music that could help you focus while reading or add to the experience. I recommend some Godspeed maybe Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada or Sigur Ros; preferably post-rock or any soft instrumental music. Modest Mouse's This Is a Long Drive For Someone With Nothing to Think or any similar folk or indie with deep instrumentation should be enjoyable as well because it allows you to focus even with the presence of vocals and lyrics. |

C'mon treb ol' boy, of course! and yea I meant read in general. |
Trebor.
06.26.12 | When people say reading I think of like novels cuz it's implied with most other things
Like "hey I went on sputnik today and"
"Did you read"
"well no fucking duh I read how else would I use the website"
"Read my lips, you are an overreacting faggot get out of my house"
"Ok bye" |

06.26.12 | @foxxxy: Just because it was interesting to listen to intense music like Pig Destroyer while reading. I'm sure I would have made a better point if i had been reading The Exorist, which I hear is Terrifying(oh the irony) especially if you go out into the dark woods and do it. |

06.26.12 | I'm pretty sure that the only physical ability he has left is blinking(if that), so I'd think he be focusing more on things that he needs like breathing, eating and drinking. |

You neglected to read the article I posted specify how there is new hope for his ability to communicate. Who cares that his physical being is corroding, Hawkings is immortal and his mind will always live on even if we have to attach his brain to the inside of a giant robot |
guitarnater
06.26.12 | I actually did read it, and no the title is deceiving, they are not going to make him speak, they are 'accessing' his brain like a hard drive.
And reading =/= communicating.(in the sense we are referring to) |

06.26.12 | Oddly enough the only way I can focus on reading with music is by using headphones. |
