Tantalus
Just a list of soon(ish) releases I'm trying to get my dirty mitts on. |
| 1 | | Beach House Bloom
Pretty sure this is streaming someplace, but for now I'm content with the
multi-track preview I heard on a local radio station. Just gorgeous. |
| 2 | | mewithoutYou Ten Stories
Took a preposterously long time for this band to grow on me. I'm pretty
sure Catch for Us the Foxes gathered dust on my shelf for a good two
years after I listened to it once. I'm not proud of this. But now I can't get
enough of them. |
| 3 | | Tenacious D Rize of the Fenix
Eh. Who knows? Like "The Roadie" video, though--but that might just be
my residual pangs for K-Powers. |
| 4 | | The Walkmen Heaven
Loved Lisbon, been meaning to explore outwards for too long. |
| 5 | | Trioscapes Separate Realities
Yes, I know it's already out. I've yet to actually pick it up. |
| 6 | | TesseracT Perspective
Could be cool? Also, I'm hoping a bunch of people accidentally discover
these guys as a result of ill-informed post-Avengers Google searches. |
| 7 | | Sun Kil Moon Among the Leaves
Kozelek has yet to release anything that I've not been floored by. Some
may find his slurred mumbles and nigh constant fingerpicking tiresome after
a while, but I, for one, am still falling for it after all these years. |
| 8 | | Shadows Fall Fire from the Sky
So these guys kind of fell off my radar for a good while, and I'm not even
sure about the current lineup--which is strange, because back in their
heyday, they were one of the more consistent NWOAHM acts. |
| 9 | | 12 Stones Beneath the Scars
Speaking of off the radar. A consistent (and consistently underrated, which
may be part of why I like them) hard rock band. Maybe this will pacify me
until that long-fabled Revis comeback actually materializes. |
| 10 | | Sigur Ros Valtari
There is no way this is anything beneath incredible. |
| 11 | | The Temper Trap The Temper Trap
I still listen to Conditions pretty regularly. Hopefully this will have its
predecessor's longevity. |
| 12 | | Fear Factory The Industrialist
Mechanize was pretty forgettable, in my opinion, but these guys seem to
work better with concept albums, so... |
| 13 | | Japandroids Celebration Rock
About damn time, fellas. |
| 14 | | Metric Synthetica
Ditto, except with a non-gender-exclusive interpretation of 'fellas.' |
| 15 | | Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Here
7,000 dirty hippies, making music that you can't help but like. |
| 16 | | Devin Townsend Project By a Thread
Got the Contain Us Box Set on the cheap, can hopefully do the same for
this epic musical monstrosity of melodious mayhem and menacing
mellowness. Ain't alliteration a gas, gang? |
