| Albums I've Been Listening To/suggested Listening?
A concise list of the albums I've been listening to a lot. | | 1 | | Incubus Enjoy Incubus
An awesome combination of funk and metal; two genres I've grown to love over the years. | | 2 | | The Mars Volta De-Loused in the Comatorium
I listened to Inertiatic Esp one day and become obsessed with this band. After listening to all their albums, I still enjoy this one the most. | | 3 | | Miles Davis Kind of Blue
I've started listening to jazz for the first time lately, and I must say, this album is impeccable. | | 4 | | Lower Definition The Greatest of All Lost Arts
This has to be my favorite post-hardcore release ever. Simply beautiful music. | | 5 | | The Contortionist Exoplanet
This is probably my favorite album of all time. Growing up as metal kid and enjoying melodies, this band really hit home, especially with thought-provoking lyrics. | |

05.10.12 | Also, any suggested listening, based off the music in this list? | Strider
05.10.12 | Glassjaw - Worship and Tribute (or their last 2 EPs) | calgarydude12
05.10.12 | I absolutely love 4. Recent post-hardcore has been full of shit but there are some real diamonds in the rough and this is a 10 karat diamond. | DotEight
05.10.12 | I still say Substructure has the potential to be better than 5, if they ever release a full-length that is. Album kicks ass either way. | Dolving999
05.10.12 | 4 is an absolute winner. If you like it a lot, I recommend "Downtown Battle Mountain" by Dance Gavin Dance, specially because there's been a rumor going around that Matt Geise will be the new clean vocalist for DGD. | Foaming
05.10.12 | Al Di Meola - Elegant Gypsy | SgtPepper
05.10.12 | The Sound Of Animals Fighting- Tiger & The Duke/Ocean and the Sun
(They have a similar aggressive Psych/Prog rock of The Mars Volta but their songs dont last for 10 minutes.) | hluch
05.10.12 | I've seen Glassjaw everywhere on this site, so I think it's about time I give them a listen. Substructure's EP was great, but not as good as any of The Contortionist's material in my opinion. A full-length would be nice though. I actually love Dance Gavin Dance. Downtown Battle Mountain I and II are amazing. It's funny you mention that album Foaming, because my dad is obsessed with Al Di Meola and always tries to get me to listen to Elegant Gypsy. I'll have to listen to it. The Sound of Animals Fighting sounds interesting as well. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. |
