Dolving999 05.10.12	TheSpirit: life changing for me, and my recommendation for heavy music fans (Altough I think no.1 was a life-changer for many people!) About Cave In, you´re right man, it does take a couple more listens. Every time I go into it I always find a new layer of sound I didn't think was there! Replay value: 10/10.
hluch 05.10.12	I wouldn't say Dance Gavin Dance's Downtown Battle Mountain is life-changing, but it is definately one of my favorite post-hardcore albums. Antlion, The Backwards Pumpkin Song, and of course, Lemon Meringue Tie are my favorites. Also, 12 Hours, 630 Miles is beautiful. I need to give that Poison The Well album a listen...

Everyone has their own taste, I happen to have a very weird one lol Paperback: Funny you mentioned that album, I listened to it time and time again and still can't get quite into it. I think it may be because I wasn't born anytime near its release, and nowadays I'm used to heavy and fast :(

Dolving999 05.10.12	TheJackal, I think that sentence was a bit misleading, already edited. Of course the lyrics are important. What I was implying was that on this particular album, Jane Doe, most people don't give a shit about lyrics ( you know, because Jacob Bannon's screams are "indecipherable" or some other shit people give as an excuse not to read the brilliant lyrics).

Dolving999 05.10.12	Yankee, that is what makes the lyrics so special to me. People who are not fans of the band might argue that all Jacob Bannon does ( both on studio and live) is scream over the music. Well I say, not understanding the lyrics the 1st time raises your curiosity, so you end up paying more attention to them and eventually they mean much more to you than you ever tought possible. IMHO, that's the reason there are so many harcore Converge fans around here.
Dolving999 05.10.12	Jackal, Hevy is actually very similar to Resurrection! Hum let's see... from all the bands in Hevy, I'd like to have Glassjaw, Deaf Havana, Rolo Tomassi, The Safety Fire and Hawk Eyes. Wanna trade for some band that catches your eye on the current Resurrection line up? lol
YankeeDudel 05.10.12	Okay Dolving thats fine for a song or two but most extreme metal bands you cant understand one word they say. Do you actually take the time to study all the lyrics for all of them, or do you just treat the vocals as "another instrument"? Converge actually have good lyrics but most extreme metal bands dont and arent even worth learning. It just seems like a fuckin chore to me. Im not sayin dudes have to sing likey're in a power metal band, but at least make the lyrics semi understandable if they care so much about them. Most people cant even follow Bannon's lyrics along anyway. Jane Doe is a good album but yea.

Dolving999 05.10.12	That's Deathcore for you haha Actually, lyrics are one of my favorite components of a song. I'm a singer/guitar player in a band, and when I write a cool riff or even a cool song, I can't put the song out without figuring out some genius lyrics to go with that. When it comes to Converge, I'm such a fanboy that I'll do just that, spend the whole day figuring the freakin lyrics lol I assume I'm a minority here, though.
