Upon listening to this album it is apparent that both Quinn Allman and Megan Joy show
rays of creativity and life in both songwriting and instrumentation. Escape begins with an
unorthodox guitar riff, which opens up to a lively drumbeat that sets an ambitious tone. The
record progresses with diversity and variation in vocal delivery that keep the album sporadic yet
never leaving the bounds of this out of body experience. Megans airy vocal delivery on tracks
like Out of Body and Very Best Part show off her control and soulful tone. These tracks build
atmospheres that create a feeling of being in a dreamy state with bubbling electronic beats added
behind the experimental guitar tones of Quinn Allman. The idiosyncratic sounds and electronic
roots of this album are a large contributor to the overall state of reverie we are meant feel. The
vocals of Megan Joy are given the most room to shine on Take Me with You as they are made the
focus and given the most room to breathe backed by minimal noise and less distractions. We are
left with an EP full of talented songwriting matched by fascinating beats and riffs. Indeed a
promising start from the Utah based duo.
