Review Summary: "Requiem" is guaranteed to rock your socks off. If I'm not listening to this album, I'm thinking about listening to it. If I am listening to this album, I'm thinking about buying another copy so I can listen to both of them at the same time.

Contrary to popular belief, being a professional school bus driver is no cake walk. The kids can be cruel, hours are tough, and sometimes people don’t stop when you deploy the little mechanical stop sign. Basically, I was one spitball away from driving that giant Twinkie into a stagnant drainage canal. However, just when I started to think my life might not be going anywhere, and that my very existence was pointless, I purchased what has become my new audio bible: The Confession’s REQUIEM!!!

It turns out that breaking into my neighbor’s house to steal stuff in order to fund my meth habit was the greatest decision I have ever made. While at my local record store selling his autographed poster of Chad Kroeger I took a stroll through the hardcore section where The Confession’s debut CD caught my eye. So, instead of blowing my recently acquired fortune on angel dust and beef jerky, I bought the record that has changed my life forever.

Believe it or not, I haven’t always been bursting with self confidence. But, fortunately for me, “Requiem” has turned me into a regular Enzyte commercial guy. Just the other day while driving my afternoon route Joey McKenzie yelled out “hey Larry, why haven’t you killed yourself yet?” While old Larry would have just pulled to the side of the road and started crying, new Larry cranked up “Dance with the Devil” over the bus intercom and told Joey if I heard one more outburst from him I would murder his dog.

If I had to think of one word to describe “Requiem” it would be BOOMSHAKALAKA! The guitars shred, the drums pound, and the vocals give me a boner. The songs in “Requiem” are also extremely diverse. If you are looking for a song to play before you step to the plate in your next intramural softball game, get ready to hit one out of the park with “Burn the Virgin”; The double base pedal intro alone will be enough to help you blast a standup double. However, if your just looking to unwind after a tough day at work, grab a box of tissue and turn to the acoustic title track of the album: “Requiem” ;-( This power ballad is sure to hit your heart harder than “My Heart Will Go On” live in concert in Canada.

The remainder of the album is pure metal insanity. If you’re a fan of catchy rock music, screaming guitars, or a just want a deeper insight into you life, pick this bad boy up and prepare to be blown away.

As of now I have kicked my drug habits, but I’m still addicted…to The Confession. On one final note, all I can say is thank god; thank god for rock and roll, and thank god for The Confession. If this band ever breaks up, my life is over.

progressive/power metal for the most part

more tolerable than a majority of power metal but still a little generic nonetheless

if you're looking for technical music then don't listen to this band....otherwise they have decent songwriting ability. I don't usually write on these threads but you guys are ignorant. Get a fucking life.
