Review Summary: Lost in the deepest black; there is no escape, there is no hope.

It's a cavern deep underground, miles within the earth. There is no natural light reaching you, only what your eyes have adjusted to. You've even run out of matches that you've brought with you. Not only that but everyone that entered with you is gone, having decided to separate and find a way out long ago. They could be free or they could be dead. You simply do not know. Food is running low and only a small stream of water keeps you hydrated through the agonizing heat that suffocates your lungs. Wall after wall of stone is all you can seem to find, trapped in what is bound to be your deathbed. Sometimes you hear a distant shaking, sometimes closer, leading to a claustrophobic anxiety that the rocks above could come down on you at any moment. Sleep is the only time of day that you are calm.

Rorcal's music is the perfect soundtrack to this scenario. There is no hope. There is no certainty. There is no light to be found. Monolithic riffs come crashing down endlessly upon you. The vocals are deep and guttural, like the voice of a murderous stalker that is your schizophrenia. There is no such thing as fast. Everything is slow and drawn out for long periods of time, with riff after riff and crash after crash evolving with a creep. It becomes quiet only to become loud again, striking a deep hopelessness into your mind. There is no escape here. While everything appears to be constant there is still an anxiety that the entire world could come crashing down at any minute.

You decide to follow the water stream in a slight hope that it will lead to an outside source. You think to yourself that you've been walking for hours, possibly days. You can't recall the last time you've seen the sun, much less your beloved family that you left behind. Your legs give out due to exhaustion and you suddenly break down both physically and emotionally, pouring into tears, begging whatever God may be out there for some sort of escape, some way to see your loved ones again. In the midst of this something catches your eye. Curiously you crawl over on your hands and knees. It's a knife that appears to have blood on it. Now it seems that the entire world has in fact come down upon you, overwhelming as the heart beats faster than you thought it ever could. You look up to find the body of one of your friends, throat sliced cleanly open.

Reviews like this are so much better than the standard "band sounds like this, has achieved this, hasn't lived up to this" blah blah blah.

Most certainly pos'd and album sounds great.

The fact that this only has one other rating is pathetic.

I did one of these once and will never ever do so again partly because mine was awful and partly because they just make no sense sometimes.
