Review Summary: "Flood of Red" Captures everything right in this excellent underrated album.

Everyone has something that they have to give up eventually. It can be hard for everyone, some may find it easy, but it can be tough to let go of something that you cherish in your life. That was hard for "Flood Of Red" when they had to let go of their screamo roots from their debut EP "Lost In The Light". When they decided to change and go into new territory with their debut album, they wanted to create something that people would remember, something that could leave a sort of impact on what it did to me, and that's exactly what they did. Soon after this album released, the band started to get a cult following with their debut and it definitely deserved it. Now with all this hype that I built up with this album, does it hold up? Yes, yes it does.

When the beginning of the album first starts, it feels like you are embarking on a journey with the band. It tells a story in it's own right, while the lead vocalist (Jordan Spiers), holds your hand while going on that journey, while he captures the mood with the wonderful voice he captures. along with the drums, guitar, and excellent production, it is a great album from start to finish. Circa survive fans will notice there is a similarity to the bands sound. While this is true, Flood of Red still manages to capture a unique sound that sticks throughout the whole album. During many points of this album, Speirs delivers a unique sound where it can be quiet and somber, while other times it can be fast and loud. Bassist (Jamie McGowan) keeps you entertained thoughout most of the tracks, while Keyboardist (Dale Gallacher) work will keep you enthralled the whole time you are listening to this album, providing an experience that makes it unforgettable. Guitarists (Calum Doris and Sean McGroarty) create beautiful sounds while the drums provided by the drummer (Graham Griffiths) always keep the pacing for the album fun and energetic at times, while also having slow radiant sounds that delivers.

While this album came out in 2009, it was a very underrated album then, and is still very underrated. This will leave you begging for more from this band, and always coming back for more. Saying that this band creates a unique sound, is definitely an understatement. This is a creative album through and though, and after listening to it, you will not want to "Leave it behind."

being a tribute band for a generally insipid band as it stands makes for an extremely average record yea
