4.0 excellent | jrowa001 | January 13th 10 | Meg Baird and crew continue to make some of the best modern psychedelic folk. the guitars are ethereal and the drumming lays down the mesmerizing beats that get you stuck in the song. of course the focal point to any Espers albums are the beautiful and dreamlike vocals from Meg Baird. her voice is so smooth and relaxing, it almost distracts you from the instrumentals because you become so focused on her voice. but after a few listens you will learn the experience of this album is much more worth it if you can engulf your self with all the aspects of the album. if the vocals are all you find interesting (a shame if true) then i highly recommend getting Meg Baird's solo album for more stripped down folk
