3.5 great | mkamrass | August 6th 13 | For Aborted's debut album, this is really good. There is not a crazy amount of variety on the album, but it is heavy and aggressive brutal death metal. If you like the deep guttural growl of Suffocation's vocalist, Frank Mullen, you probably like at least some of the vocals on this Aborted album because they sound similar. Other than may be the lack of variety, one problem that people may have with this album is that the band uses media samples before each song starts and the album ends in a media sample, I did not find it to be too much of problem (some of the samples were definitely interesting).

2.0 poor | GamamJ | April 17th 20 | Meh. Aborted?s first shows the band in a very early stage. Their instrumentals were fine, however the vocals aren?t good yet, and the entire album is exactly the same.

2.5 average | Jared Floryan | November 2nd 14 | Even for a debut recording, The Purity of Perversion isn't an excellent representation of Aborted's gore-ridden brutality. While the instrumentals are certainly passable and the horror samples - as plentiful as they are - suit the overall tone of the album, Sven de Caluwe's vocals lack in merciless power and the songs aren't all that different from one another.
