Emeralds' self-titled release seems to be a declaration of new identity for the project. With this release, Emeralds takes theri second tentative step into ambient tinged with progressive electronic reminiscent of Tangerine Dream. This album is comparable to Does It Look Like I'm Here? but is perhaps not as successful in capturing the sound that Emeralds achieved on their next album. This is a worthwhile listen for fans of Emeralds' later work.
