Review Summary: TIME TO DIEEEEE!!!
There's not a lot of glam in the brutal death metal scene and there never has been. It's a style of music that is most definitely an acquired taste and a sound that even seasoned metal fans could find unlistenable. However, if you're in the minority and can't get enough slams, unintelligble demon growls or riffage that bludgeons you over the noggin for an extended period of time, Gaffed's debut full length,
Die Already, is definitely for you!
Gaffed dosen't try to reinvent the wheel here men. There's no progressive passages, no melodic breaks, no symphonies.
Die Already is a mix of extrememly brutal death metal and the horror movie, zombie loving, murder seeking lyrical content of bands like Mortician and Hooded Menace.
The difference between Gaffed and some other brutal death metal bands I've heard is their ability to keep you fully engaged. No, this album isn't big on variety, but it's not meant to be. It's meant to pound you into ***ing oblivion and, in that sense,
Die Already does EXACTLY what it what it was meant to do. And that is murder you and leave you a bloody mess.
