When Day Descends is an instrumental progressive rock / metal band from Tasmania, Australia.
The band was started as a solo project by Dave Caswell in 2001, but shortly after releasing their debut
album Transcend, When Day Descends grew into a full 5-piece band.
The second album, Ascension (featuring only one 38 minute track), was released via When Day
Descends' website as a free download, and is the final stage of Caswell's solo effort.
They are currently in the studio recording their third full length release.
