Viral Millennium: 2 words that intensify the modern day bastardising of Industrial Rock that this duo have become so popular for. Viral Millennium (or, VM, as they're more affectionately abbreviated to by their fanbase) began its initial evolution as an online project from the masterminds whom early 2000's myspace users will remember simply as Flood of Rain and Syncron City. Taking the cityscape rendered ambience of Flood of Rain and melding it with Syncron City's harsh guitar driven industrial; the duo of Gregor & A.D brought about Industrial Rock's new bastard son. Taking their new profound sound to new heights, a certain Lady Gaga, was among the first to suffer at VM's hands with their cover of hit single “Paparazzi”, turning it from a pre-pubescent pop classic into a dark metal anthem that few bands could hope for in their careers. Coincidentally, this cover went viral on youtube (now well over 100000 views), which launched VM from the cold depths of obscurity into the pop culture mayhem of the worldwide alternative scene. All of this before they had performed their first show. Viral Millennium have always looked forward towards the big picture. Investing more into the overall sound and approach by taking their song writing from the angle of early day composers rather than the standard whom contemporary songwriters adhere to. This combined with the lighting from the vocalists own lighting company is enough to rival almost any arena show. It's not just about the music with VM. It's the stage show and explosive energy that adds an extra flavour to the Viral Millennium experience. As vocalist Gregor likes to put it : “It's about putting on a f*#*ing show.” Capitalising on this monumental industrial mix of metal anthems meeting bastard dance beats gone wrong, their live show soon got the attention it deserved from promoters all over the country. However, it was with the self release of single and video “Destroy” when heads really started to turn. Within 12 months they had toured nationally in Australia and performed alongside current leaders in the industry such as Hanzel Und Gretyl (USA), Nachtmahr (Austria), Sybreed (Switzerland) and Hocico (Mexico). This led on to endorsement after endorsement including (but not limited to): ESP Guitars Australia & New Rock Boots. Heavy enough to head bang to and enough beats to keep your girlfriend happy, their Dynamic Sound captures the perfect measurement of beauty versus brutality. Viral Millennium's upcoming album “Vomitosis,” due for release in 2014, is intended to touch on VM's already established monumental presence whilst expanding on the dynamics of their sound; the very essence as to why their fans fall in love with them. « hide
