"If a band ever finds that it is not giving their best effort and playing at the edge of their abilities at all times, then they are not playing the kind of

This philosophy is what has driven Lafayette, CA based experimental rock quintet, Via Coma, since their conception in late 2007. Between 2007
and 2008, the group diligently wrote song after song, as they moved between five different studios throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. After
nearly a year of writing, demoing, editing, and refining, they self recorded and produced their debut EP “Bridges”. “Bridges” was released digitally
the following year on March 3rd, 2009, with a physical release on March 6th accompanying their sold out CD release show in their hometown.
Since the release of their EP in March, Via Coma has played countless exclusive acoustic performances and full-band concerts around the state of
California including San Francisco’s historically acclaimed Slim's, Petaluma's Phoenix Theatre, and Sacramento’s Boardwalk.
The name Via Coma roughly translated means, “through endless sleep.” Its common knowledge that a substantial amount of growth is done while
you are sleeping and as with any process of growth comes, change, and evolution. In this day and age, especially sonically, change and evolution
are absolutely imperative for sustainability. What sets this piano driven quintet apart is their open embrace and firm understanding of the need to
continually evolve and weave their own tapestries of sound.
