Music is really important to me. Its completely mood altering. Can put me in a bad mood or a good mood depending on the hour of the day. But there are other things in my life. I also love coffee. tons of it. And popcorn. super enormous bowls of it. Paul Thomas Anderson films. Macs. Curb Your Enthusiasm. Madden football. World Cup soccer. Leffe beer. The Fountainhead. Thai food. Ezpass. dogs...particularly my golden retriever Chloe. bathroom humor. and red wine. just off the top of my head.
The sad reality is that music on a large scale is a business and the recent trend is to take everything thats human out of the production of it. Artists lack staying power and are replaceable. I hate it and I imagine you do too. Im trying to find a way of surviving it because there are artists out there who manage to fight against those trends and those are the people I try to emulate and find inspiration in. Artists who just do what they do despite outside pressures and people are eventually forced to accept it cuz it works. Thats what Im striving for. Im just doing what I do and hoping people will dig it.
