In high school, before being signed to Rise Records, heand his best friend Rachel Reece had planned out acareer, and future, together as musicians. There was talk of management, as well as recorddeals. In October of 2008, Carterreceived a phone call saying that Rachel had been struck and killed by a drunk driver. Devastated, Carterdecided then that hewould give up music and pursue a career as a psychiatrist. While Tyler was filling out an application to Auburn University,he gota phone call regarding Rise Records's interest towards his band, Woe, Is Me. Which then started his trek into the music industryand hisquest to find himself once again. « hide |
