The Heresy Gene are Jon Briggs and Gregor Beyerle.
The band was created on a hot August evening in 2015 in rural Germany when Jon Briggs decided to teach himself how to write music using a cracked version of Fruityloops Studio emulated for the Mac. Six hours later, he had written his first track which came to be entitled "The Gehenna Arpeggio".

The band was created on a hot August evening in 2015 in rural Germany when Jon Briggs decided to teach himself how to write music using a cracked version of Fruityloops Studio emulated for the Mac. Six hours later, he had written his first track which came to be entitled "The Gehenna Arpeggio".
Combining Psytrance beats and rhythms with epic euphoric 90s style Trance melodies, haunting orchestral and choir sections - delivered in a gothic/industrial vibe, The Heresy Gene's debut album 'La Luz Del Padre' illustrates and investigates spiritual themes whilst being laced with tongue-in-cheek humour and numerous vocal samples from religious sermons and theological debates.
Jon owns and runs Inquisition (www.inquisitiondesign.com - London, UK) and has been involved in the music business since 2001. He has enjoyed time as a Club DJ, Music Promoter, Tour Manager, Venue Booker, Artist Agent and CD sleeve designer. With a string of successful club nights and high level tours to his name, Jon has worked with many of his personal heroes and gained much inspiration and support from them along the way. Jon enjoys composing euphoric melodies and dance beats, and draws influence from a wide range of musical genres including 90s rave, Goa/Psytrance, Prog/Gothic Rock, 80s electropop, classical and orchestral music.
Gregor already boasts a distinguished musical career and has performed with (and produced) many big names in the alternative music scene including Nachtmahr, L'ame Immortal, Reeper, Modulate and many more.
Proud owner of Studio Dreamcatcher, Gregor is a highly talented musician, producer and mix/master genius. He also has a methodical and tenacious approach to music making. « hide |
