Smith had briefly joined the Banshees after their guitar player abruptly quit. While on a semi-hiatus, The Glove project came into fruition. At first, Robert Smith was supposed to do the vocals for their one-off record, Blue Sunshine but due to record contract problems, the vocals were filled by Jeanette Landry, who happened to date Siouxsie & the Banshees' drummer Budgie at the time. Smith provides vocals for two tracks while Landry sings the rest. The album is a tour de force of colors and ideas that might not have fit that well within The Cure and the Banshees, respectively. Nonetheless, this album stands as a curious little journey from brilliant minds, and a sexy female vocalist to boot. Essential for Cure and Siouxsie fans, and even great for the casual fan. « hide
