The Drop

The Drop are a 9-piece roots-rock-reggae outfit based in and around London. They are part of the small but significant front-line of British new-wave reggae bands, pushing with a sincere awareness for the British reggae revival. The band has quickly built a reputation for infectious melodies and an authentic heavy roots sound laced with a refreshingly eclectic originality. The Drop are a 9-piece roots-rock-reggae outfit based in and around London. They are part of the small but significant front-line of British new-wave reggae bands, pushing with a sincere awareness for the British reggae revival. The band has quickly built a reputation for infectious melodies and an authentic heavy roots sound laced with a refreshingly eclectic originality. Dandelion, the most recent addition to the band, is already an established reggae artist in his own right. His solo projects have seen him sing on several successful Dubstep releases, most notably CCTV on the Hyperdub label which was supported by the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs and Giles Peterson on Radio 1. They have shared the stage with acts such as Toots and the Maytals, Dreadzone, Babyhead, Rodney P, DJ Derek and Blackslate.
