The Dead Science were a Seattle, WA indie rock that formed in late 2000, after losing the name of their original band (the Sweet Science) to an emo band. Comprised of Sam Mickens (vocals, guitar), Jherek Bischoff (contrabass), and Korum Bischoff (drums), they play a blend of jazz and indie rock. Absolutely Kosher released the group's proper debut, Submariner, in 2003. Sam Mickens and Jherek Bischoff continued on to become members of experimental band Xiu Xiu for a short period.
