As far as Chicago soul artists go, Terry Callier had the most unlinear career of them all. Beginning his career in the mid sixties, Callier continually transformedhis music, adapting jazz, folk, funk, and disco into his repetoire, creating a body of work that gained a small, devoted following and not much more. Callierretired after almost two decades making music, only to be thrown back into the spotlight in the late 90's, championed by British soul fans.
