Star One is progressive metal band formed by Arjen Lucassen, a member of Ayreon, in 2002. It originated with a collaboration between Arjen and Bruce Dickinson, but was abandoned by Dickinson when his manager realized that word of the collaboration reached the Internet. Arjen used the music they had made in the short time they were together and built upon it to produce the first, and currently only, album by Star One, Space Metal.

Among these people are the vocalists Russel Allen (Symphony X), Dan Swano (Edge of Sanity), Floor Jansen (After Forever), and Damian Wilson (Threshold), and drummer Ed Warby (Gorefest). As it is an album written for the most part by Arjen, it has many similarities to the music of Ayreon.
Star One is currently in the middle of making a new album to be released later this year or in 2011.
