With a reign of terror lasting over twenty years, Satyricon has become one of the most well-known black metal bands. As a youth, Satyr impressed the flourishing Norwegian metal scene with his ability to write raw, hateful black metal, while using folk and symphonic elements to create black metal with pure emotion yet enough musical substance to drive Satyricon to become one of the genre's most important bands.
