Sacramentum is a melodic black metal band from Sweden. They were formed in 1990 by vocalist/guitarist/bassist Nisse Karlén, and their sound combines the brutality of death metal with the rawness of black metal, with their debut album Far Away from the Sun frequently referred to as a classic melodic black metal album. The band would eventually split up in 2001 after three albums; however, they would later reunite in 2019. On August 25th, 2025, Nisse Karlén died by suicide.
