Formed in 1985, RockStrata are among the first and few bands in Bangladesh to popularize rock and heavy metal in the country. Their popularity paved the way for many bands to be formed especially in Dhaka. They also have the honor of releasing the first ever metal album in country. Unfortunately this was also their only album release and broke up shortly after. They however have formed a cult following after bands like Warfaze and Artcell popularized heavy metal music in the underground. Mahbub-Ur-Rashid is usually considered to be the best ever drummer to come out of Bangladesh.
