Whilst listening to cd's of the Dutch folk group Pekel, one may observe many different cultural styles and an unprecedented
enthusiasm of the musicians involved! The latter is what people most remember of the concerts of this band. Unavoidably,
members of the audience feel as if being carried through a wonderful world of humor and unexpected musical arrangements,
skillfully performed on a colorful set of instruments. The musicians of Pekel hold the middle between the minstrels in a medieval
painting, the shantymen on a tall-ship and developers of new but iconic contemporary folk music.
