Originating in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a group of students formed a psychadelic folk-pop musical project called Manuka Piglet, currently comprised of Sam Roberts, Calvary Fisher, Ian Carrillo, and Andy Herman. After gaining local recognition through the ABQ-based Goathead Record Collective, Manuka Piglet would release two EPs (“Dog Songs” and “Saving Grace Beyond the Kitchen”) and a full-length album ("Brain-Damaged Toon Underworld")before expanding into other musical endeavors. Known for their unorthodox recording techniques and bizarre stage presence, Manuka Piglet has an “ability to take the recognizable and distort it to a new dimension [which] gives the quartet their impact inside the head of the audience” (-emergingindiebands.com).
