A Solitary Attraction is the 3rd full length album written and recorded by Patrick Bailey, guitarist for New Orleans based instrumental band Smiley With A Knife.
Like his 2 previous albums, A Solitary Attraction is an experiment in capturing a moment. Each song is built one part at a time, starting with drum tracks. Layers of guitars and loops are improvised at the moment of recording and vocals are later added. None of the songs would be made if they weren't made at that time of recording, thus capturing that moment.
Like his main band, LoOmis' A Solitary Attraction is highly influenced by such acts as Tera Melos, Don Caballero, and Mogwai. With the addition of vocals and the element of self recording and improvisation, LoOmis is a truly unique sound.
