Little Comets are a four-piece indie band from Jarrow, Washington and Newcastle consisting of Robert Coles on vocals and guitar, Michael Coles on lead guitar, Matthew Hall on bass and Mark Harle on drums. They are described to play 'kitchen sink indie' music, citing Debussy, Roald Dahl, Ella Fitzgerald and Paul Simon as influences. In early 2009 the band were signed to Columbia Records and have released their debut album In Search of Elusive Little Comets on 31 January 2011.
