Kill the Kong is a Swedish rhythm based Metal/Hardcore band formed in 2015. With seven members including two singers and a percussionist their music is influenced by several different bands in the Metal/hardcore/rock- genre, such as Slipknot, Architects, Parkway Drive, Upon A Burning body, Every Time I die. During the spring of 2015, the band entered Studio Radionika to begin the recording of their debut album, from which the first single ‘Caged’ was released later that summer. The single was followed by several live shows around Sweden to build up the brand Kill the Kong on the Swedish metal scene. With their energetic “in your face” live shows, they quickly got recognized as a force to be reckoned with. After releasing two more singles, ‘Black Bones’ and ‘Is This the End’, Kill the Kong finally released their highly anticipated self-titled debut album in February 2016. The album received a warm welcome, both by critics, fans and on social media. Kill the Kong continued to play several live shows around Sweden, but also abroad, while simultaneously writing new material. In August of 2016 they recorded two new singles, ‘Bring the Heat’ and ‘Ashes in the Wind’. Both songs were released with music videos during the fall and winter of 2016/17. Shortly after releasing these singles the band signed a record deal with GAIN / Sony Music (Avatar, Europe, Hardcore Superstar). During the spring and summer of 2017 Kill the Kong once again entered Studio Radionika, this time to start the recording of their second full-length album. The first single ‘Juggernaut (Wolfpack)’ was released in June 2017, followed by ‘Snake Eyes’ and ‘The Antagonist’, which were released in August and October. The album titled ‘Colossus’, will be released on November 24th through GAIN / Sony Music. Kill the Kong is gaining ground and growing bigger every day, with new fans and listeners joining the Kong-family. The band currently has over 1.5 million streams on Spotify. Make sure to follow a band that’s got the world before their feet, and tag along on a voyage of scale. « hide
