After that, the band's music shifted to a predominantly country sound, starting with their fourth album, "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town", which featured a re-recording of the song from their previous album, "'69". Another notable album of theirs was the concept album "The Ballad of Calico", which was a country-rock opera about a period Western town and its various inhabitants, with shifts into assorted other genres. Despite not selling well due to being a double album in different genres from song to song, it has garnered significant acclaim in recent years for its ambition and eclectic sound. « hide |
