KADAWATHA is built around the 23 year old Sri Lankian Daniel Kadawatha. He formed and created Kadawatha in the winter of 2008 and back then it was his solo project. He wrote and recorded his songs in a trailer that he painted and decorated on his own and put on the countryside to get peace and calmness. Later on, after a year or so, he put together a band. He wrote and recorded his songs in a trailer that he painted and decorated on his own and put on the countryside to get peace and calmness. Later on, after a year or so, he put together a band. KADAWATHA is a band but it's Daniel's music, lyrics, thoughts and stories. He is the songwriter & composer.
The songs, fairytale stories and the great unity of the band started to get a lot of attention from big recordlabels, publishers etc. This led to a lot of showcases and they got to play in New York, London and support to Paramore in Stockholm to mention a few. By this period Kadawatha already had a Management but they also got a new cooperative manager in London.
Now, spring of 2010, the band has a big US tour coming up. Andreas Pihlgren has sadly left the Kadawatha but they have been lucky to find a great drummer to stand in for now. They just got a new place to rehears and record, which has been a thing they've been waiting for a long time. Daniel also feels that his composing and songwriting has reached it's next level so a lot of new songs and stories are being born.
