This legendary Bay Area DJ troupe (founded in 1989) helped popularise and expand the turntalblist movement in the 1990s, whilst introducing new techniques without the secrecy often commonplace in the DJ world, touring schools andlecturing and instructing at music academies. The changing lineup consisted of 9 DJs, most notably founder members Mix Master Mike and DJ Q-Bert. They were supposedly denied from competing at the DMC to stop entering their events as they were discouraging others from taking part due to their almost unparalled ability. They performed their last show in 2000, although the 2001 film Scratch brought them to the attention of a wider audience. Most of the members have gone on to form solo careers.
