I Hate Kate is an alternative rock band from Huntington Beach, California. The band was founded in November, 2004 by former
Zebrahead guitarist and vocalist Justin Mauriello, to explore his musical options. Soon after the release of their first album, the
band's name was changed to Darling Thieves.
After releasing the "Extended Play" EP in 2012, the band has mostly gone silent. Mauriello has pursued other musical
endeavors such as a 2015 solo EP, but none have filled a similar full-time touring band role as Zebrahead and I Hate Kate did.
