Planned in 1989 but reality in 1991, Hybernoid were inspired by the local barren landscapes of rural Lancashire. They quickly became part of the huge underground scene of the day and a big player in the death doom scene with their nihilistic lyrics, scathing guitar and barked twin male and female guttural vocals. The post punk scene of 4AD would also contribute to the overall sound.
