Graham Bonnet Band is a hard rock and heavy metal group led by British vocalist Graham Bonnet, whose earlier career included Rainbow, the Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz and Impellitteri. Publicly announced in January 2015, the band developed from Bonnet’s musical partnership with bassist Beth-Ami Heavenstone. Its purpose combined writing and recording new material with performing songs from across the singer’s career.
Bonnet and Heavenstone initially worked through song ideas together on acoustic guitar before assembling a full band. Guitarist Conrado Pesinato, who had previously played with Heavenstone in Hardly Dangerous, became an early member. The two-song EP My Kingdom Come appeared in 2015, pairing its Russ Ballard-written title track with The Mirror Lies. Early touring took the group through Europe, North America and Japan.
The debut studio album, The Book (2016), arrived through Frontiers Music. Its lineup included drummer Mark Zonder and keyboardist Jimmy Waldo, Bonnet’s former Alcatrazz bandmate. The release paired eleven new songs with a second disc of newly recorded selections from Bonnet’s earlier repertoire. Meanwhile, Back in the Garage followed in 2018, with guitar contributions from Joey Tafolla and Kurt James and drums from Mark Benquechea.
Day Out in Nowhere (2022) reunited Bonnet with Heavenstone and Pesinato, who also produced the record. Guest contributors included Don Airey, Jeff Loomis and Roy Z. The band’s concert repertoire continued to combine original material with Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group and Alcatrazz songs. Lost in Hollywood Again, released in December 2025, documented a performance recorded at Los Angeles’ Whisky a Go Go in August 2024.
In October 2026, the band announced Circuit Breaker, scheduled for release on March 26, 2027. Its first single, The Fifth Force of Nature, features a vocal duet between Bonnet and Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson. The announced studio lineup pairs Bonnet, Heavenstone and Pesinato with drummer Shane Gaalaas and keyboardist Alessandro Bertoni, with Pesinato producing and Heavenstone serving as executive producer.
Graham Bonnet Band centres on forceful clean vocals, melodic choruses, prominent guitar solos and substantial keyboard arrangements. The material moves between classic hard rock, heavier melodic metal and passages with progressive or neoclassical touches. Bonnet has emphasised the importance of instrumental parts supporting the song, while describing the band’s recordings as reflecting different periods of his career with a contemporary approach. « hide |
